A brunch wedding is the perfect way to start the day! Preppy, fresh, bold and cheerful are just a few words that capture brunch themed daytime wedding at the Parsonage in Charleston. This stunning 3 bedroom home in the historic Ansonborough neighborhood of downtown Charleston originally served as home to the pastors and their families of the St. Johannes Lutheran Church (sitting right next door!). The house dates back to the 1800’s and was lovingly restored in 2014. The renovations finished up in 2015 and the property is now available for weddings! Managed by the sweetest, most lovely ladies, both named Barbara (aka The Barbaras!), they and the Parsonage have quickly become our Charleston favorites!

So anyway, back to the Tour! Sara Skinner (me!), Regis Byrd, Amanda Shaw & Zoe Berkley-Cramer, Charleston Wedding Planners & Event Designers of Scarlet Plan & Design led the vendor team on what is sure to be a favorite Chucktown wedding inspiration design for years to come! Our Breakfast In Bed idea was hatched after imagining how perfect the space would be for an intimate, luxury daytime garden wedding in early Spring. Energized by the bold salmon color of the Parsonage itself, Breakfast in Bed combined bright and cheerful shades of pinks, lavenders, oranges, blues, yellows and greens to make up the perfectly preppy, spring inspired color palette. Peggy & Linda Sirisky, floral designers and the floral geniuses at The Flower Cottage, created incredible centerpieces, flower arrangements, bouquets and boutonnieres elevating the fresh, preppy spring wedding design to new heights. I especially loved all the gorgeous purple flowers!

Our darling bride, Taylor, dazzled in 2 gowns. One a fresh, flowy frock from Kate MacDonald Bridal and the other a form fitting, lace ensemble from Modern Trousseau. She and her lovely bridesmaid both looked fabulous all day long with her hair and makeup done by Charleston Lash & Beauty Bar, a longtime RWT vendor partner.

Our groom, Darius, was dapper as could be in white jeans (yes, jeans!) paired with a pink snakeskin bowtie from Shop Taxidermy and a houndstooth jacket.

What brunch would be complete without mimosas? The Make Your Own Mimosa Bar by Flute inspired guests to use more than more than just orange juice when making a mimosa! They paired delish bubbly with assorted juices such as guava, peach, pomegranate and cranberry displayed in gorgeous vintage crystal carafes from Polished (now owned by OOH! Events) with fresh local fruit for a Mimosa Bar that truly wowed! Sister company of Flute, Crave International Catering, returned for the 3rd time to serve up tasty small bites that continued with our spring, brunch design. And, y’all, their food is uh-maze-ing!

In addition to the most stunning wedding cake, complete with hand-painted watercolor flowers, Kait Mizell owner & and pastry chef extraordinaire of Cakes by Kait created an incredible Brunch Bar. She rocked my world and accommodated even my wild ideas with cakes made entirely of pancakes (OMG!), mini cinnamon buns on popsicle sticks (OMG what?!) and both sweet and savory cupcakes, their Brunch Bar was utter perfection!

And what luxurious Southern wedding would be complete without lavish, custom linens? And Kristin Rose of Kate Ryan Linens always comes up with the unique ideas to keep our Tours ahead of the trends and inspiring!

The Bridesmaid’s Welcome Basket from Just Darlin’ Gifts was so splendid that we simply had to bring it with us for all the brides-to-be taking our Tour 2 weeks later in Savannah, GA! The basket was chock full of Southern treats and sweet gifts to remind your gal pals how much you love them!

From the watercolor stationery by Blush & Crew (she also designed our new Wifey shirts!) to the 1931 Bentley from Lowcountry Valet & Shuttle Co., no detail was left unattended. Gorgeous signage from Paper + Pine Co. surprised guests at every turn as they wandered around the house to the sweet sounds of a string trio from Charleston Virtuosi playing from the dining room. Little White Box Traveling Photo Booth returned for the third time offer guests a fun photo booth experience!

See you on the next Charleston Tour, Saturday, June 25! But don’t fret if you miss it, there’s another Tour coming to town on August 13!
