earthy elegance at charleston harbor resort & marina by scarlet plan & design for revolution wedding tours

Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina returned for the second time as a Featured Venue stop on the 3rd Charleston Revolution Wedding Tour. The Design Inspiration for the venue combined luxe neutrals with tons of romantic natural textures and an organic color palette to create “Earthy Elegance” with just a little bit of sparkle sprinkled here and there.

The vendors were challenged to use raw, organic elements to transform the typically nautical Yacht Club at CHRM into a luxurious, nontraditional, woodland inspired fairytale wedding led by Sara Skinner, Regis Byrd, Amanda Shaw & Zoe Berkley-Cramer, the Charleston wedding planners & event designers at Scarlet Plan & Design.

Square farm tables topped with nude sequin table runners intermixed with round tables dressed in neutral, oatmeal colored linens from our linen partner, Kate Ryan Linens. The sky blue hemstitch linen napkins added the perfect amount of complementary color to each setting. The tables were all adorned with minimal centerpieces such as wooden candlesticks, gilded antlers, wood slices and foraged greenery kept the design rustic yet clean and modern. Yet again, The Flower Cottage‘s stunning floral designs were simply astounding.

The sweet sounds of The Lowhills, provided by longtime musical partner Charleston Virtuosi, serenaded guests upon their arrival in the Yacht Club while palettes were charmed with scrumptious tastings by the culinary expertise of the Resort’s incredible chef and catering team.

A pub height, wine barrel table set against an enormous window overlooking the whole Charleston Harbor & Patriot’s Point was the perfect backdrop for the stunning cake and delicious tastings by Sweet Rhi, another amazing returning vendor.

Let's get back to the food, folks. The bar service and catering teams at CHRM are always extraordinary! They served these mouthwatering Ahi tuna wonton bites, an incredible antipasto display (my heart belongs to roasted veggies and Italian meats!), fried green tomatoes topped with pimiento cheese and more. But seriously, can we please discuss the fact that I'd without a doubt eat those deviled eggs right off the floor. They were topped with a heavenly combination of lump crab meat and caviar. Yep, heaven. I'm in heaven.

We placed rustic hand painted Mr & Mrs signs from one of our favorite vendors, Paper & Pine Co., on the bride & groom’s chairs and several of their other signs around the venue as inspiration. The lounge area featured a neutral, oatmeal colored velvet sofa flanked by coffee table height logs were unexpected side tables and wowed the guests.

Kate McDonald Bridal provided a stunning golden patterned gown for the bride and a neutral, taupe wrap gown for the bridesmaid from their latest collection now available in their new shop, located in Charleston.

Our groom was none other than the {oh, so dapper} Jeffrey Newton, owner of our longtime transportation partner Lowcountry Valet & Shuttle Co. Want to know a secret? He wasn't even supposed to model for us that day! Our original groom was unable to model for us and when Jeff stopped by to drop off the cars we realized he was dressed PERFECTLY to be our groom! I mean, really. And how cool are those driving gloves he has on? Where can I get a pair?!

And speaking of Lowcountry Valet, they brought out a stunning navy blue 1950 Chevrolet Styleline and a fun orange, vintage Volkswagen Bus to display at this venue and our guests LOVED it! Y'all, their fleet is incredible and growing every single day. Check them out!
